Wooden antique crucifix with brass colour metal Jesus corpus. This one-of-a-kind object is ideal for a home altar and has historical significance, having originated from an old monastery in Belgium. The cross was consecrated in the monastery by its residents. This imparts an additional sense of tranquility that is connected to the cross. Beautiful large crucifix in excellent condition in silver colour. At the base, there are two removable side statues: Mary and John. Together with Jesus Christ, they form the so-called ‘Calvary group.’ Above Christ’s head, you’ll find the inscription ‘INRI,’ and above that, a dove representing God. On each side of the base, there is a symbol for one of the four evangelists: Matthew: Depicted as a winged angel. Mark: Associated with a winged lion. Luke: Often shown with a winged ox or bull. John: Represented by a winged eagle or hawk. It is made in Zamak: Zamak (formerly trademarked as ZAMAK and also known as Zamac) is a family of alloys with a base metal of zinc and alloying elements of aluminium, magnesium, and copper. I've made a picture with a wine bottle next to it so that you have an idea of the size. The bottle is not included. If you are looking for something real special for your home then you have just found it. It was find on an attic in France.
